Nifty Fifty

What in God's name is 'Nifty Fifty'? Well, it's an idea from a Scottish football forum, Pie and Bovril, where you pick 50 things that you aim to achieve over the course of the year.

The intention of this blog is to track my progress throughout the year.

Some activities are personally challenging, some are things I never bother to get round to doing due to a lack of time or laziness, and some are designed for 'self improvement', whatever that means.

So, here it goes...

*drum roll*

Six days into the year and none of 41-44 haven't been broken, although I bloody tipped that Peterhead would beat Elgin, Queen's Park would beat Clyde and Jamie Longworth would score. Of course all of these events happened and I didn't have money on it (43).

I've played one game of 5-asides and have a second game arranged for next Monday, therefore 45 has started well. As well as 46, as I played pool and renewed my club membership on Thursday.

The only other things on my list to have any (minimal) progress are 1-4 and 10. I've started up running again, the extra Christmas weight, and constant wind and rain are ensuring a challenge beginning to building up my fitness to meet my goals (1-4). I attended my first football game of the year on Monday, yet another victory for Queen's Park over Clyde (6 in a row), and will be at Fir Park on Saturday where Queen's Park take on Motherwell in the Scottish Cup.

Until next time; merry blogging and a Happy New Year.
